Bernetta Li is a self-taught Hong Kong-born painter living and working in London. She draws inspiration from themes of solitude, intimacy and introspection. Inspired by the tradition of portraiture, her paintings aim to capture the intricacies of human connections with authenticity, inviting viewers to look inwards and create their own narratives. Painting in the confines of her apartment, she leverages the soft light from her windows to capture the subtle yet powerful emotions of her subjects. Her debut exhibition, Portraits in Solitude, was held at Seven House Gallery in New York (October 2024).
